Turkey and the Total Solar Eclipse
|

| Itinerary & Photo Links | Twenty
eight eclipse chasers
spent an
unforgettable 14-days in exotic
Turkey. The first three days and four nights were in amazing
Istanbul where we explored both ancient and modern sights. On our last
afternoon
in Istanbul, we took a cruise on the Bosphorus.
Then, two days before the eclipse, we flew to Antalya on the Turkish Riviera. Our base for the eclipse was just south of Manavgat where we had a fantastic view of the eclipse from a rural hilltop. The day after viewing the eclipse, we headed west exploring many ancient sites on our way to Bodrum. We took a beautiful cruise in crystal clear waters and a night hike to see the eternal Flames of Olimpos emanating from the ground. From Bodrum we continued north to Ephesus seeing many more sights along the way. Photos by Carolyn and Dave Moser, Markus Heuer, Dick Carlson, David McLean and Stefan Bedo. |
